PWOG - Kraak

Three untitled mixes here from the ever-mysterious Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia.

Track A1 sounds very like what I remember of their live show - subtle-as-hell changes through a percussive riff that sucks you right in before spitting you back out again. It actually says "all jammed by PWOG" on the sleeve so that kinda explains it.

A2 starts with a bump then goes much more stripped down and focuses on the noises rather than the percussion. Still quite an up'n'down kinda thing though.

B is over 12 mins of pure PWOG magic. An epic cut of the track which will blow your mind. I wish I have a recording of one of (ov?) their live shows. Can anyone help...?

Been keeping an eye out for PWOG live recordings for a long time, but nothing yet. So who was on the soundboard for the PWOG Pure gig at Glasgow Barrowlands back in the day? That was some night.

Thanks a bunch for that!

no problem, mate. a little something for everyone: the mark broom mix is slamming, the plastikman mixes are half good and half odd, and the coil remix is...well, dark and fucked up, like you'd expect from coil. ;)

Loving the Coil madness! I'll ask if there's a Barras recording available...

I'm afraid the Barras gig wasn't recorded. Nothing from the Pure era seems to have survived into the digital age, anyone who was ever in the club will understand why...

i took a look, i thought i had a PWOG gig, but turns out it's the drum club. oh well. would be excellent if one turned up, though...

hey that's really cool, I'd totally forgotten about Milton's movie and had no idea it actually got finished..thanks so much for posting!
B.t.w. that was me on the soundboard at those gigs, and a splendid time I had too, Scotland was always a BIG favorite for us, many many happy memories...

AFAIK the PWOG set at the barras was recorded. I remember hearing of one that Russ had? Or maybe Gerard from Tangent had a copy of it at one point? For some reason my memory is foggy of that period in my life! ;) It had the PWOG set then the rest of the C90 was made up with bits of the DJ sets of Lenny Dee and Derrick May.

Hopefully it's out there somewhere and not an urban myth! :)

it may interest some of you to know this record was entirely made from vinyl samples, i.e. wobbling a record, dropping the needle (kick), run-out groove noises, etc..all sampled, sequenced and processed in the mix...the title is the dutch word for 'crackle' :)

That's me learned something new today. Every day's a school day. Cheers, Tim!
